VEHICLE TYPES REPRESENTED: AutoAp Services cover U.S. passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks, defined as:
Passenger car or passenger car derivative capable of seating 12 passengers or less. Light-duty truck means motor vehicles rated at 10,000 pounds or less GVWR. Made in or for the U.S. market, only. Foreign countries’ vehicles are not currently processed for safety recalls.
MANUFACTURERS REPRESENTED: AutoAp obtains safety recall status for the following vehicles:
Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, FIAT, Ford, GMC, Honda, HUMMER, Hyundai, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Maserati, Mazda, Maybach, Mercedes-Benz, Mercury, MINI, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pontiac, Porsche, Ram, Saab, Saturn, Scion, Smart, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo.
MANUFACTURERS NOT REPRESENTED: The U.S. Government’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) exempts certain low-production or out of production auto manufacturers from having to provide VIN-specific safety recall information, and as a result are not covered by AutoAp, Inc.’s services. The following vehicle manufacturers currently are not required to provide safety recall information:
Alfa Romeo, AM General, American Motors (AMC), Aston Martin, Bentley, Daewoo, Daihatsu, Datsun, Eagle, Karma/Fisker, Genesis, Geo, Lamborghini, Lotus, Merkur, Panoz, Peugeot, Renault, Rolls-Royce, Sterling, Suzuki, Yugo, Stryker. If you have these vehicles, AutoAp cannot help you confirm if a recall has been repaired or not. From time to time, manufacturers may delay access to their VIN verification which will impact available of information.
VEHICLE YEARS REPRESENTED:
AutoAp’s services enable clients to access information on vehicle makes represented, and model year 2000 or newer. AutoAp, Inc. takes no responsibility for providing information for vehicles older than 15 years. Additionally, many new vehicles’ VINs may not yet be recognized even by the OEM, which means AutoAp does not have access to OEM information and cannot process these vehicles for VIN-specific safety recall status.
* Notes: Vehicles must have a valid U.S. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Makes available for safety recall verification may change at any time, without notice. Ferrari and Maserati: Dynamic Recall Management service only. From time to time, OEMs and other sources are in maintenance mode and are unable to provide safety recall information. Although this occurs rarely and usually for a very brief period, AutoAp, Inc. has no control over the timing or duration of these outages.
